Department of English Language and Literature, established in 1974, provides focused study in English culture and literature, English linguistics, as well as practical English. In practical English programs, we not only educate students to communicate in English fluently, but we also deepen your knowledge with a range of research and analysis on international affairs. English linguistics programs strive to prime you for applied skills of linguistic approach and understanding by conducting research on synchronic and dia

chronic development of English. Furthermore, chronological perusal of American and British poems, novels, plays and essays will be followed by its appreciation, analysis and criticism.

Throughout the curriculum, we try to provide comprehensive knowledge of the English-speaking culture and society, along with deeper understanding of our own culture and society as well.

Equipped with high-tech gears, the Department offers students various advantageous opportunities for digitalized global world. There are four divisions in the Department, namely, English literature, English linguistics, English education, and Storytelling.

We also provide students with preparation for careers in translation, media, academic realm, literary area, and other related areas.
